Objectives
Aligned with our institution’s mission of “Excellence in Commerce Education”, the college has reoriented its policies and programmes to make commerce education more relevant in the global scenario. The UGC-granted Career Oriented Programmes (COPs) at the undergraduate level focus on quality, skill development, and value addition.
These programmes are designed to:
Equip students with practical and professional skills alongside conventional degree education.
Enhance employability in service, industry, and self-employment sectors.
Introduce students to applied knowledge in emerging fields of commerce, management, and technology.
Offer skill-oriented, value-added, and add-on courses that complement their degree education.
History & Development
Since the academic year 2007–08, the college has implemented Career Oriented Programmes as parallel sub-disciplines to conventional degree education. Students can pursue Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma courses in addition to their degree in Commerce, Arts, or Science.
In 2009–10, a new certificate course in Web Designing and Office Automation was introduced to further enhance practical skills and career readiness
As highlighted in the UGC X Plan Preamble, professionally qualified graduates with core knowledge and skill expertise are in high demand in various sectors. These Career Oriented Programmes help students acquire the skills necessary to meet these global challenges.
