National Cadet Corps (NCC)
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is India’s largest uniformed youth organization, dedicated to shaping the future of the nation. It instills a sense of purpose and patriotism in young minds, preparing them to be responsible and disciplined citizens.
Aims of NCC
The NCC operates on a clear set of objectives to develop a strong and capable youth force.
- Character Development: To build qualities of character, courage, and discipline.
- Leadership & Service: To foster a secular outlook, a spirit of adventure, sportsmanship, and the ideals of selfless service.
- National Resource: To create an organized, trained, and motivated youth resource to provide leadership in all walks of life, including the Armed Forces, and to be available for the service of the nation

Cardinal Principles of Discipline
Discipline is the bedrock of the NCC. These core principles guide every cadet’s conduct:
- Obey with a Smile
- Be Punctual
- Work Hard without Fuss
- Make No Excuses and Tell No Lies
Organizational Structure
The NCC has a well-defined hierarchy to ensure effective management and training. The NCC headquarters is located in Delhi and is headed by the Director General, a Lieutenant General.
At the state level, each Directorate HQ is led by a Deputy Director General with the rank of Brigadier. The Maharashtra State Directorate HQ is located in Mumbai. This Directorate comprises 7 Groups, and our college is affiliated with the Amravati Group, 11 Maharashtra BaƩalion NCC, Akola.
Our NCC Unit: A Legacy of Excellence
The NCC unit at our college was established in 1964. Its legacy has been built on the dedicaƟon of its leaders and cadets.
Leadership History
- Major M. S. Bapat and Captain S. S. Sardesai were the first to shoulder the responsibility, bringing great honor to the college.
- After Captain Sardesai, Prof. D. R. Baheti served as caretaker until August 1986.
- In September 1986, Prof. P. B. Modak was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant, taking charge and increasing the cadet strength to 106.
- In 2012, Dr. Anil M. Tirkar took over as caretaker. He was commissioned as a Lieutenant in 2013 and was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2022.
Notable Achievements of Capt. Anil M. Tirkar
- 2018: Felicitated with the Best ANO Award by the Amravati NCC Group.
- 2019: Awarded the DG Commendation Card by the Director General of NCC.
- 2021: Received the Rajya Raksha Mantri Award from the Ministry of Defence, New Delhi, the highest honor for the institute.
